Most conferences provide seminars during the daytime hours and social events in the evening. The workshop presentors are usually professionals in their field or have been involved with transgender issues for a great many years. Seminars deal with such topics as gender theory, political activism, makeup application, speaking in a feminine voice, wig care, hair removal options, hormone replacement therapies, burlesque dancing, and surgeries for gender reassignment. In addition, many conferences include vendor booths were you can purchase books, jewelry, wigs, makeup, clothing, breast forms, hips pads and other products of interest. Makeover services are often available for an additional fee.
